KEPSA and OEF Launch Role of Kenya's Private Sector in Peacebuilding

Private Sector Peace Building

Peace in KenyaKenya Private Sector Alliance (KEPSA) in partnership with One Earth Future Foundation will launch a report on The Role of Kenya’s Private sector in Peace building: The case of the 2013 Election cycle.

The launch will take place at 7:30 AM, on the 12th of the June at the Serena hotel in Nairobi, Kenya. The event will present the major findings of the report, stimulate debate concerning if and how the business sector should engage in peace building, and take questions from the audience.

The study has shown that business can and should be part of continuing efforts to build institutions that improve transparency in the conducting of public affairs, reduce tensions, and create a more harmonized society, as well as provide an environment that enables the sector to thrive.
This latest research by One Earth Future shows that the Kenyan business community played an essential part in facilitating peaceful elections in 2013, offering a blueprint for preventing future electoral violence.
In attendance will be members from the private sector led by the KEPSA Chair Mr. Vimal Shah, representatives from the Civil Society, Religious Groups, among others.
